So I thought I'd make a thread where we could post places we've been to that have had an awesome retro experience
For instance few weeks ago I went to this bar called bartronica in Melbourne CBD And they are filled with arcade machines and have console gaming nights XD When I went they held a mario kart 64 tournament... think they might be holding golden eye 007 tournament soon aswell!
Great place to relax have a drink or two and just get into the retro gaming goodness

I once went into a Crash Converters in (I think) Collingwood and bought some Super Famicom games. I've never seen any SF games for sale actually within Australia before so I thought that cool. I dunno if that counts though lol I I've been there twice in the last 15 years. I did however go to the now defunct gaming bar owned by The Escapist. I had a lot of fun there, and was sad to hear it had closed.

It was somewhere on Brunswick Street. And trust me, I would come more if I could. If I was to ever move out of this backwater city and stay in the country, Melbourne would be my first choice.

I live just the non city end of of Brunswick St, I think you might have gone to Mana Bar, but it shut down.
I went into the Cash Converters on Smith St (Collingwood) less than a week ago, it is pretty average now, they most are really. I have gotten the odd NTSC-J Saturn game there and a 32X, not much, but every now and again there is some gold.

It's cool that they've had import games there on other occasions too. I wonder where they got them from.

A couple years at least, and it was only open for a couple itself. It was pretty average to be honest, I walked in, gave it about 20 minutes and walked out.

I went during the week when they had a quiz night, so it wasn't so crowded (I agree that the place was tiny) but my friends and I had a ball. We stayed there for hours playing games and drinking. Too bad you didn't like it, I think it could of grown into something more if it lasted a bit longer.

Ah ok...if its at least 2 years old, I know why i'd have never heard of it/been there 20 minutes only ! didn't sound like it had much of a chance to get into your good books!
